ROI Calculation Of ERP Implementation(Help)

iamzdnet says : Hello friends and all contributors of this niche-forum...,
I'm doing a project on "ROI(return on investment )of ERP implementation".
I've already got some relevant materials, calculation templates et al.
from the net and books.
But no actual cost data is available in them.
I would be much grateful if anybody can please help me in obtaining
ERP investment related data as in
Cost of Software,Hardware,personnel,training,consulting etc.
which inturn can be used to calculate the ROI using the various
reknowned methods like PVIF etc.
This data could be any cost details related to a particular industry
wherein the ERP is implemented or diverse.
If anybody is ready to share any particular e-book
which deals with this issue it's appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Warm regards

bas says : Hi and welcome to the forum...

That is actually the problem with ROI, TCO and even normal project
calculation... formules are enough but reliable data is another issue :o

Cost of software / hardware shall be the easiest one... just go for list prices, and what you need of course depends on the setting (full ERP, just a part, large / small organization, legacy systems etc).

Cots of general consultants here in western Europe is about 800-1100 Euro per day (depending on volume and level of experience).

For costs of salaries you can use salary.com that provide per function an average indication:

http://www.salary.com/smallbiz/layoutscripts/smbl_display.asp

That's about it from the top of my head... I will look a little bit furter and let you all know.

BTW this can be a nice thread as this is exactly the problem for all software projects (not just ERP).

Cheers
Bas

Bernard says : You might try contacting Bryan Weir of Perspective CMMS. He is a consultant that has done some studies of ROI for CMMS systems which are similar to (and sometimes a subset of) ERP systems.

iamzdnet says : My heartfelt thanks for all valuable information posted.
Looking forward for a good knowledge sharing time.
Thanks again...

iamzdnet says : Thanks for the support.
Can anybody plz help by sharing some templates which they've used for such ROI calculations...?
sample Indian data will be appreciated greatly...
If anybody ,with Ramco systems or Peoplesoft implementation data in Indian context, shares those valuable information it would be of great help to me.

Bernard says : Have you tried contacting the vendors themselves for ROI studies?
