Sorry for the late response. Your question is very broad so it will be difficult to provide you one answer, but I can help you on your way I guess.

First, most models are just variations on the continuous improvement idea: Plan, Do, Check, Act...

I would suggest you read up on CMM first, it will cover a broad range of topics and zooms in on certain stages in development:
