PRINCE2 Tailoring And Scaling

Has anybody here got experience of PRINCE2 tailoring and scaling?

I've read the book sections on scaling and hints & tips; but it's still not clear to me. Perhaps you've got the Tailoring PRINCE2 book and can give me your view on whether it really helps to deploy it.
