what is the most common software used in companies in US for the following;

project management
database

i am a marketing professional...so i am curious..not into software development..so wondering what others use...for timelines etc

Robin Jackson says : MS Project is pretty common. Good alternative is Openworkbench (the old ABT Project Workbench gone Open Source).

As far as databases, depends, mysql rocks, ms access is pretty common for desktop.
